Conditions of Entry

NORA HEYSEN CENTENARY ART PRIZE for STILL LIFE – CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. The art prize is open to Australian artists over the age of 18 years.

2. All entries must be the original work of the artist. Collaborative works are not
accepted.

3. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works in any medium are accepted.

4. Artworks must not exceed 150cm x 150cm x 50cm (including any frames,
mounting or installation)

5. Artists may submit more than one entry, but a separate entry fee must accompany
each work.

6. The entry fee is $30 per entry and non-refundable if the work is not selected for
exhibition.

7. Entry forms must be accompanied by a high quality A4 coloured photograph or
print of each artwork entered.

8. The Hahndorf Academy reserves the right to exhibit selected finalists’ work only.

9. Artworks selected by the Judge for exhibition must be delivered to the Hahndorf
Academy by Monday 19 September.

10. Delivery of work to and from the Hahndorf Academy is the responsibility and at
the cost of the artist. No responsibility will be accepted by the Hahndorf Academy
for works lost or damaged in transit.

11. All works must be clearly marked with artist’s name, title of work and price.

12. All works must be suitably framed or mounted with D-rings attached, ready for
hanging. Any 3-dimensional works requiring installation must be accompanied
by such installation and instructions. Works without D-rings or instructions for
display will not be exhibited.

13. Artworks must be for sale. The retail price stated on the entry form and on the
back of the works must include a 35% commission (GST inclusive). Artists must
provide an ABN or Statement indicating hobbyist status.

14. Payment for sold works will be made within 30 days of the close of the
exhibition, excepting those works held on lay-by. Lay-by agreements have a
maximum duration of 3 months and artists will receive instalment payments
during this time. If a lay-by is cancelled, the artist will retain the initial deposit of
25% (less commission) and will need to arrange collection of the work.

15. Artworks must be available for installation and exhibition from Monday 19
September until Sunday 4 December 2011.

16. The Hahndorf Academy reserves the right to reproduce without fee any exhibited
works for purposes of documentation, promotion, media coverage and critical
review.

17. Unsold works are to be collected from the Hahndorf Academy by Friday 9
December. All costs associated with the collection and transport of unsold work
are the responsibility of the artist. Works not collected by 9 December will be
disposed of at the discretion of the Hahndorf Academy.
